Memo to Press Secy. Gibbs; Stop Rush Baiting

This is a posting about the childishness of the Democrats and the Obama Administration when it comes to Rush Limbaugh.

LAS VEGAS, NV (March 16, 2009) – White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs and President Obama need to get on the same page. Stop mentioning Rush Limbaugh.

Today Gibbs was answering a question about remarks made by former Vice President Cheney over the weekend. Gibbs replied, “I guess Limbaugh was busy.”

First, this is pure politics. That’s not what serious Americans want to hear. It’s like going into surgery and overhearing your doctor tell cadaver jokes.

Second, for folks in Washington, D.C. who might not know this: there’s a #@%king financial crisis going on.

Third, why do Democrats give credence to the two morons – Cheney and Limbaugh?

Fourth, it makes the President look petty. It actually makes him look like the Bush Administration whose every move was based on politics. The Bush Administration called people who opposed them traitors and un-American. Even though, VP Cheney is rather reptilian, you can still treat him with some modicum of respect. (Obviously I don’t.)

All Gibbs had to do was answer the Vice President’s charge. I’m no fan of Dick Cheney’s, but at least you have to answer charges that we’re safer now, for instance, that we’ve closed down Guantanamo Bay. Rush had nothing to do with this.
